"feel intimadated by a girl around my height" damn :(

well its not as bad as u think. im 6'7. ive never seen a girl 6'7 before. im not that used to seeing tall people anyway. most bahamians are around 5'11 and the women are shorter

wow 6'7". I have never seen anyone that tall. Well then it can't be too hard for you to find a girl who is shorter than you :)

thats correct. short girls are evrywhere but i guess as long as they are fine aint nothin wrong with a 6'2 girl e.g. maria sharapova

I prefer taller girls myself, somewhere around 5' 10" or so. Being 6' 3", I'm still taller than they are, but I prefer more "equality" rather than "protection" I guess. I've never had a problem with taller girls, but I feel awkward around girls who are a foot shorter than I am.

A foot shorter girls make me uncomfortable as well. And so do girls my height or taller.

6'4", male, single ;)

Hey, I could go for a 6'4" guy. I'm surrounded by guys that are around my height or shorter most of the time... someone taller would be a nice change ;)

I'm a girl and I'm 5'10" (I think...I'm hoping I haven't grown anymore...) I like seeing that some of the guys are over 6'!! The ones in my school are all too short :(

ill break the tall people string here...im 5'5" and im a guy. too bad girls think height is so important :( genetics are a *****

Aw, sorry. Well, I don't like being tall; I'd give you a few inches if I could lol

haha thanks :p its not so bad, except as i said, for some reason girls like to be towerd over. i can get why a 5'7" girl wouldnt want a 5'5" guy, but a 5'3" or 5'2" girl seems like a good match. guess not >_>

anyone shorter than 4'10.5''? That's my friend, and she can still get under 12 prices everywhere (She's turning 19 in about 3 weeks).

6'5
Male
Short girls make me :)

Well, I'm 5'9". And am a girl. An Asian one to boot.

I pretty much grew up in an Asian community so... I was pretty self-conscious of my height.
Funny thing is, I actually felt a bit average, maybe even short at UCSD orientation. :) Tall white guys make me feel better about my height.

... Well, I'm just going to tell you that even when I'm out with my friends, I get the "guy treatment." Just because I'm tall, they lean on my shoulder, hook arms with me as the guy (never ever the other way around), etc.

That's probably because you're thinking of the hot tall models, so duh, they're hot.

Tall girls can't even really wear high heels. Do you realize how limited we are when it gets to shoes? Just about every cute shoe out there has high heels. One day, I just said "screw it" and wore high heels to my baccalaureate ceremony and everyone made some sort of "Too tall!" comment.

And plus, a lot of tall guys like shorter girls just because... they're tall.

5'10.5"...I'm a girl

So duh, can you think of any short models AT ALL? No supermodels are short, and that's counting Kate Moss, who is still 5'6.

Boo hoo. Do you realize that having short legs and having to look up to everyone is annoying and unattractive?

Anyone girl who is attractively tall (say, 5'7-6 feet) who makes a fuss about the "downside" to being tall obviously needs a stint at being really short to understand how lucky they truly are.

I'll first reiterate that I'm a 5'5"(on a good day) guy

Wow. Does that suck.

I don't know the guys you know, but I know the girls I know who are "child sized" are usually getting hit on ten times more than the taller girls. I don't know your top heavy comment either...I can't say I'd complain about a girl who is "top heavy"..
Can I ask you a question? Are the guys that hit on short girls on the somewhat shorter side as well? The tall guys I know prefer tall girls, because, you know, dating someone who comes up to a little below your chest-level is sort of odd.

The short guys I know prefer short girls, because, obviously, it makes them look better because they're actually taller than someone, even if its only their date.

I don't know the guys you know, because once some guys have grown up and developed more, well, sophisticated tastes, tiny women with short legs aren't as classically appealing as say, tall, long-legged women who-- if they're thin enough-- can have moderately sized-breasts that still look larger on them, just as smaller women with moderately sized-breasts look as if they have larger.

It has to deal with proportions and lengths. Maybe if you weren't short yourself you might appreciate taller women more? Some guys have literally "loftier" standards than others, after all.

And the figure skaters and gymnasts are usually the better looking of the athletes...

I don't know anyone who would choose a 4'10, 85 pound gymnast over a 5'9 volleyball player with volleyball player legs.

I guess its just the environment I'm in. Lots of tall, thin women around. Also, the culture here says to appreciate tall, thin, long women. Look through a fashion magazine. Look at TV ads. Look at the movies. Tall women totally outnumber shorter ones, and tall guys will always outnumber short guys when it comes to fashion and the media.

Maybe if you live in a place with a lot of short women, and you yourself are short, you develop a taste and appreciation for short people. If you're short, and you live in a place with a lot of tall people, you just develop a realization of your, well, "short"-comings.

Let's just say, I personally don't, and I personally haven't yet.

Wow. Does that suck.
Nope. Not one bit. I've never had a single problem doing anything. Never had a problem with girls, jobs, sports teams, anything. I can't even wonder why it would suck. I'm willing to bet 99% of "tall guys" would kill to have my physique because everyone who has ever seen my body has said "damn kid, how do you get like that?!" or "**** he's jacked". I have never gotten a complaint/insult about my height or body in my life.

Yes, it must be my height that I prefer girls shorter than me...even though I've dated a girl who was 5'11" and another who was 6'2"...I really must not appreciate taller girls though. Perhaps I'm a serial dater.

I've lived in many places in my life. Experienced many differen cultures, lifestyles and peoples. It has nothing to do with where I live. It has nothing to do with my height. It has nothing to do with everything. You keep listening to the media telling you whats good and whats not in life, you'll get far.

That's really very stunning. Because, even as a girl, being short as garnered me unpleasant comments. I really, really find it... what's the right word... unbelievable that you've never once been singled out negatively for being short. Actually, I find it impossible. Sometimes people choose to hear things and pretend not to hear others. Sometimes people are... willfully oblivious. Sometimes people... overcompensate. Some people stretch the truth on the internet in order to advance a point that they've tried to make.

There have been scientific studies upon the correlation among height, self-esteem and treatment in different culture. Just as there are advantages to being good-looking-- romantically, for instance-- there are advantages to being tall. Culturally, being taller commands more authority and respect than a slight person.

I really am very surprised that you, who are at the average height for American women haven't once experienced a situation in which you realized the disadvantages to being short.

Uh huh. And these places, do they feature shorter populations where you might fit in physically? Because a 5'5 male in, say, the Netherlands, in which the average female height is several inches taller than you are, would probably stick out.

Unforunately for me, it's not just the media. I suppose all I can say is that you're obviously very lucky you don't live where I live, or all 5'5 inches of you wouldn't be so jolly about being your height.
