So I recently was deferred for EA to Northeastern and I am completely in love with the school, and want to make myself more marketable and ultimately be accepted for regular decision.

My stats so far are:

GPA: 3.35 weighted (3.2 Fresh, 3.3 Sophomore, and 3.5 junior year), but 1st quarter of senior year I got a 3.7 and continuing the work I am doing my semester grades should round out to a 3.9)
Course load: I have taken 12 AP/Honors classes in my High school career and am in 4 for senior year, with all 4's and 5's on the AP exams i have taken and have 3 credits from a college course I took over the summer.
SAT: 1920 (690 CR, 600 Math, and 630 (12 on essay) in WR)
My extracurriculars are my shining point as I am actively involved in 6 honors societies, Editor on the newspaper, 3-4 year member and have multiple awards for debate and Model United Nations, captain and 4 year member of Varsity Swim and Dive team, Eagle Scout, and have other leadership positions and minor extracurriculars.
My Recommendations were very good from my counselor and teacher, but I only sent in 1 teacher recommendation and left of the optional second. Also I didnt apply for financial aid and am an out of state caucasian male.
MY essay I good, its about my international and global experiences, but I really want to change it to be more focused on me and what I have to offer. Can I send in a new essay/statement with my semester grades?
My main reason for posting here is to get any advice on what I can do to bolster my chances at getting accepted into NEU with suggestions, tips, and advice on the process of making changes or things to do to make myself a potential HUSKY for next year. Thanks and I look forward to any help.

I applied to the school of management because I took a 3 credit business course at Georgetown and got an A and sent that in. But I am also interested in International relations/poly Sci and maybe Pre-Law.

I’m in the same position as you! So far my senior years have gone up 7 points (100 point scale) so that should definitely help my chances. I also added 3 EC’s that I hadn’t thought of before. Other than that I guess the only other thing would be to write a new essay, which I’m sure they’d accept it. I hope I get in RD! Good Luck! :)

EDIT: Also go and visit if you haven’t done so already.

That’s very odd… I had pretty much the same test scores as you (1910 SAT). It may be your gpa so you may be able to come back. Have you considered taking the ACT? It might boost your chances.

I think the best thing you can do is fill out the application as much as possible. That means getting the maximum amount of letters of rec (they really do mean a lot), bringing/keeping your gpa up and maybe some community service? Dude you seem like an awesome student. Idk why you didn’t get in.

I’m not sure, it may have been due to EA space limitations or some stuff I missed on the app like community service or my essay, But hopefully with some changes I should be in good shape for RD pool. I did a campus visit already over the summer, but do you think an interview would help?

Do you think they would accept a new essay/supplement on why i would fit in at NEU/ a more personalized essay? I read online somewhere you can request an interview, but it’s not really a commonly used thing.
