I just got accepted to New College yesterday. I was actually thinking of switching to woodsworth. From what I understand residences have nothing to do with your major, but I am in the arts and sciences. Anyone know the process to switch between colleges...is it possible at this point?

Don't think you can.

"Can I change my choice of college or add alternative choices?

Yes, you may change your choice up to a specified closing date provided that your offer of admission has not yet been issued."

I would call housing and see what they can do. From what I hear you can change colleges, but it's rare.

I just found out that yes, it IS possible to change colleges seeing as i JUST got switched over to University College.... AH! So Happy! :D

Anyway how? I talked in person to the registrars secretairy person (i dont think that helped) and then emailed the Registrar from UC. I explained all my reasons for wanting to change.

Basicly just send an email to Woodsworth and they'll probably answer back a couple weeks later. Or else call and ask Woodsworth (not New) on what the procedure is to request a transfer to their college.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

woodsworth has their housing aplication up now. i was accepted to woodsworth and i have to apply still so...i imagine they would consider everyone. but don't cause i don't want to be thrown out into chestnut.

i think if you contact them they're pretty flexible. a classmate of mine who is also going was accepted to university but i believe switched to trinity over the phone.

hey I'm unclear about how exactly you go about changing colleges. i want to switch over to University from New, so do i just send an email to the registrar about this? I hope it's not too late.
thanks!

Just contact the Registrar's Office at whichever college you have your eye on and ask them if you can switch. Chances are, if you are non-residence, there will be no problem.

I switched from Woodsworth College to St. Michael's College early this semester. It was a very quick, simple process. I just e-mailed the Registrar and asked him, he said "sure," and with the click of a button on his computer I was a St. Mike's student.

Gryffindor, are you a new applicant for Sept. '07? Chances are that it's not too late. They won't even be considering applications for a couple of months yet so if you contact U of T with the request to change your choice of college prior to that, it's unlikely to be a problem. It's only after you're accepted and have been assigned to a college that you might run into any difficulty. It will also, at that time, depend on which college you would like to switch to that will determine the likelihood of being able to change. As Fides et Ratio said, it's fairly easy to switch to St. Mike's, usually, because it's not a college that the majority of applicants would choose.
