so how do I tag you?

Do @ScreenName

@ItsJustSchool

Yes, that worked @jetpotion. That is how you tag, and then I get notified. If you like, perhaps I can draft an email which you can edit to send to each of these opportunities.

My mom came home this week and something bothered me. I have a severely strained relationship with her for the last years. She thinks because I am not 18 I dont have say in the matter. She says I have to choose sides.Furthermore more,asking me do I care for her?Like wth of course I care for her and I dont see her marked by the government .She again denies a counselor and according to the doctors she will get worse. She doesnt want any help. She already at max dosage possible(Without passing out and my dad requested this) and she still talking nonsense to strangers and hallucinating .She doesn’t even want to go to a social recreational center.I fear that her self destructive and negative mentality is worsening her condition. According the records she been to the hospital 2 times in one combine year and if reaches 4 times a year, the government and law enforcement will step in Psych teams and nurses would literally record all of her activities and force her to take pacifying clauseral medications. I dont want that at all. The doctors says I have to keep a close eye on her medication intake. She still doesnt trust my father and I fear she wont trust me either. We didnt even have a family meeting because everybody is away from home except for me. She still thinks I am taking her money for some reason and paranoid as eve. Doesn’t even trust me going out on my own. I cant even study in silence without hearing her talk when shes in the kitchen(I will only get a 1 and 30 minute of pure silence and my dad is home) I mean I want to get away from this situation but I cant abandon my mom. Hopefully after college will I find surreal peaceful environment…You know even the place I live has little to no crime I just saw someone pulled out a gun in the streets 3 days ago(Thank god the person didnt fire it and that probably just the gang related white neighbors that live across the street)

I mean during college*

I would suggest you try to find a college where you can dorm. Your mom is not your responsibility and you can’t curtail your future to try and make up for choices she refuses to make. You’re between a rock and a hard place, certainly, but you ARE NOT responsible for your mother’s poor choices.
After school, go to the town’s library or the school library or any quiet place, and stay there to work.
Finally, speak with an adult - your counselor, a pastor or rabbi or priest or imam, a doctor. You need help and your mom needs help and you can’t do it all alone.

@jetpotion, I just came across a summer program that could be ideal for you! It is held on-campus just a couple of hours south of you (Princeton, NJ). Applications are due in 2 weeks, so you need to hurry. It is free, I think:

As I recall, you are a Junior this year. Is that right? Or a Senior?

Try to borrow the book Hold Fast to Dreams by Steckel and Zavloff. You’ll recognize yourself in many students there. (the authors have followed several students who came from very challenging circumstances, it’s NON fiction).

^the program above is perfect for you and I confirm that it’s FREE.

I am wondering if the thread that is linked above (posted by the sister, according to this OP) was written by the same person, the OP, who started this thread. There are distinctive language patterns, an interesting mix of sophisticated vocabulary and mystifying grammar and syntax, in both.

I know sister, who posted a lot on the financial aid forum. She is currently attending college (NYU Poly) through HEOP, so she would not need to post about getting into college. SIster also had higher grades and scores to what sibling is posting. Sibling needs to use a bottoms up approach and don’t forget to apply to EOP at SUNY as well as SEEK as CUNY

what do I write for alimony? My family is 10000… I know I write SSI but what about public assistance?
