How to fix my mistakes...

I'm a sophomore in high school, and my grades haven't been too great.
I got:
3 C's
5 B's
7 A's
There's one I didn't include because I either had a D or a C in there right now.
I took: 5 academic courses, 2 AP course, and 9 Honors courses.
I know that the D or F in AP Chemistry will look horrible when I apply to university, and there's nothing I can do to fix that now.
But my question is...

If I can get good grades through the end of high school, and my GPA at the end of junior year could be a 4.3 give or take a few, what should I do to increase my chances of getting into a university such as UNCW?
What are universities looking for?
I want to do as much as I can to make my application look better, before it is too late.

The only thing that you can do is move forward and do all you can to do great in the future. If you are really worried, you can take more classes (online or over the summer) to bring your GPA up.

Do you have any extra curriculars? Are you part of any community events, honor societies, etc?

You still have this summer, and till fall of senior year to build your resume, make it count.
