I only got a 3 on my AP English Language test last year... and I'm not taking AP Lit this year. So now I have to fulfill the Writing 1 requirement. On the UCLA website, it says:

"The Writing I requirement must be satisfied by completing English Composition 3 or 3H, or an equivalent course approved by the College Faculty Executive Committee, within the first three quarters of enrollment."

So what are some other "equivalent courses" that can fulfill this? Is the list just the same as that of Writing 2, but I'll just have to take one more? Thanks to anyone who can help me.

I don't know about courses... but if you got 680+ on the writing you're set. If not, call them and ask... they're really nice about that sort of stuff. Someone just called me today and told me a whole lot of useful information and asked if I have any questions.

"by earning a score of 3 or higher on the Advanced Placement (AP) English Language and Composition or English Literature and Composition exam. "

"In early April, all incoming California freshmen who have not satisfied the Entry Level Writing Requirement will receive an e-mail or letter directing them to the testing center where they can take the AWPE on May 13."

^ That's the UC Entry Level Requirement, the one I'm talking about is the W1 req. Would you happen to know which courses, or if they're the same as W2, satisfies the W1 req?? Thanks a lot.

writing 2 classes do not fill writing 1 requirement. most everyone takes eng comp 3 to fulfill writing 1. do you have something against taking eng comp 3 or something?

Hey, so can take English composition 3 at a CC to fulfill the UC Entry Level Writing requirement and English Composition 3 for units? Or will it only cover the entry level writing requirement cause I dont think I can take the Writing Placement Exam in May. SO I was thinking of taking English Comp 3 at a CC since I'm taking a class in the summer already.

Eng Comp 3 wasnt bad at all. it depends on your professor, so check Bruinwalk.com for professor reviews. my EC3 class had a total of 3 papers. first 2 were 5-7 pages, and final paper was 10-12 i think.
