This is a very specific question. My son is applying to NJIT for the Nov 15 EA deadline, and wants to make sure his first quarter grades, which are coming out tomorrow, are included. He is taking AP Physics and AP Calculus and expects A’s, and really wants NJIT to see them (some of his grades from previous years were not so stellar, so he wants to show progression). Our school district can only send final transcripts via the Common App, so the one they send will not show any senior year grades. The counselor normally emails or faxes the quarter grades in situations like this. So I emailed the NJIT director of admissions asking where to send the quarter grades and got the reply “The counselor should submit the updated transcript via the Common Application”. That was it. So I tried again, with more explanation, and got the same response. I know that they can request a Mid-Year report from our high school, but the EA decision gets made long before that point. I would think they would want to see how he is doing in AP Physics and Calculus, since it is an engineering school. The guidance counselor doesn’t have any other ideas.
Have any of you successfully emailed supplemental materials such as updated quarter grades to NJIT? Or do you have any other ideas?
