Will my senior year first quarter grade show up in my mid-year report?

I got a D this first quarter in my Pre-Calc class which has been stressing me out so much, I’ve only had like 3 B’s in my entire transcript and they were 88-89. I’m applying to fairly selective colleges and I want to know if it’d be worth it if my mid-year report does end up showing that D.

(I do plan on getting an A next quarter, I just had a rough transition to senior year because the year before I was living abroad and didn’t go to school technically)

I asked my guidance counselor about it and he said that only 9, 10, 11, and 12th grade semester classes will show up in my mid-year report.

I read around here though and it seems like that’s not true? is this policy typical/possible of a high school?

Are you applying early? The way our GC explained it, they go by what they have when you submit your common app. If they’re not sure about you at that point they may ask for more, or defer you to regular admission where they’ll get mid-year grades. He said it’s uncommon that they ask for first term grades. YMMV, but that’s what he said.

Well then, you got your answer!!

It does vary by school, but in your case, as your GC confirmed, only end of semester marks show up on yours. Good luck.
