I am debating weather or not to even go to VT since it seems impossible to get from school to central NJ easily. I do not want to have to take bus and then a train. Any one have a bette idea?

the only option then would be to drive. unless you could fly from Roanoke…but that requires getting to/from the airports.

Most schools have ride boards. I can’t believe that there wouldn’t always be someone driving to DC where you can pickup the Amtrak.

Freshman can have cars if that is an option for you.

Home Ride (bus service) can take you from VT to DC. You can then take Metro to downtown and then Amtrak or another bus. Not simple, but doable.

Thousands of VT students live in the DC metro area. Student can share a ride into DC or suburbs, take metro to bus/train station. Mega Bus, Bolt Bus, etc. run hourly and fares are low, usually about $20 one way to and from NYC.
