Hi, I was wondering what it takes to get into UC Berkeley (I’m planning to major in real-estate). I’ve looked at their website for requirements, and it is a pretty a generic college page. So can someone who goes to UC Berkeley tell me their application process experience? Like SAT scores, GPA, EC, and essay. Some information about me is that I am a California resident, I was born in China, moved here when I was seven. I have no siblings or family besides my mom and dad. I am currently a sophomore at a public high school. I am in the top 5% of my high school, and I have really good grades (All honors and AP classes) I am planning to take the SAT this year, and on the PSAT I got 1800, and I think I can do way better if I studied (I’m also going to a SAT camp this summer). I don’t really have much for ECs, except I play varsity golf. I am planning to start doing community service starting next semester when I get my license. Only talents that I have an intensive knowledge in real-estate investing because of my dad, who does real-estate investments. My dad has taught me a lot about investing, teaching me how the poor work for their money while the 1% make their money work for them(I can write an really good essay about this)So what are my chances? And what do I need to do to secure my chances of getting in? Do you think taking SAT Subject math II will help me getting into the Haas undergrad? What classes should I take my Junior and Senior year? My school offers AP calc, AP econ, and AP stats. Thank you!
I’m sorry, but Berkeley does not have a “Real-Estate” major.
Might I suggest something like a Bachelor’s in “Sustainable Environmental Design” or “Development Studies”?
Theres no path that would “secure” your acceptance to Berkeley. Best advice I can give you is take difficult classes, get good grades, get great test scores (Over 2000 SAT over 30 ACT), and make sure your ECs and essays are awesome.
@justonedad Oh, I’m sorry I meant the Business Administration major. I was just going to focus on the real-estate in Berkeley because it was ranked #3 in the US. But I am also looking towards a Finance major with a real-estate concentration like at University of Illinois or NYU.
Ummmm… have you looked at UCB’s admissions website?
