I have been taking a lot of practice tests and my scores for these sections are very inconsistent. For English and Math they're pretty consistent, but for science and reading I range from 30-35, and sometimes even lower.

What can I do to get more consistent reading and science scores? I'm usually rushed a bit on time, and I finish with almost no time left.

Can I improve my reading speed in any way? Are there any tips on what to do if I can figure a question out? For example, instead of spending a minute trying to find the right answer, should I just make a quick guess and come back to it later if I can?

Thanks for any help guys :)

Time management is my biggest problem in science and reading. I also seem to have a little problem with time on math – just one or two questions will take me too long. I know I need to move on, but I also know I can get the right answer with just a little more time.
I think I need to focus more on the strategies than on each section. I have found that I do better when I am at least a little bit familiar with the subject matter and I need to just get better at the science strategies instead of relying on my comfort with the material. That is where my fluctuating scores come from.
I am trying to increase my reading speed, too. I am not a terribly slow reader, but not fast enough for the ACT. There are speed reading programs out there.
Are you taking the test in April? That is the one I am preparing for.
