I got waitlisted at Harvard, Columbia, Wharton, and Princeton today. I assume that I'm going to need to be sending these schools a letter reaffirming my interest. What else do I send? An updated copy of my resume? An additional letter of recommendation?

I've heard from various sources that becoming a finalist for the Presidential Scholars competition will guarantee you getting off the waitlists. Can anybody confirm or reject this?

Enough posting where you got waitlisted. This thread is for suggestions to get off the waitlist and into the school. I would love if these questions are answered/explained in detail, as I too have been waitlisted by a handful of schools.

hello everyone, im an intl waitlistee for Wharton.

CC articles/forums mentioned about writing emails to regional rep to update them about latst grades/achievements but because I’m intl, I have finished my national exams and sent them way back in Dec and my new ec and achievements mostly revolve about the university I’m currently attending in my native country - so should I mention these (despite upenn being my 1st choice) any suggestion as to what I should write besides describing why i am a match for the school? TIA!

Fine.
US News wrote something about a girl who was waitlisted—>accepted at H in 08 from my school.

I’m pretty sure the “she’d definitely go if she got in” part was a little untrue, as I heard directly from her that she was unsure, and because she says so in the video US News also recorded.
She won a rather significant community service award about which she was able to notify Harvard, IIRC.
