I have three 5lbs frames (20x30in) that I would like to hang in my dorm room. I believe that we're able to use push pins, tacks, and command hooks to hang things, but I'm not sure if nail are allowed. For those of you decorating your dorm rooms, how are you hanging your items?

I used command hooks for stuff on the actual wall, but we were only allowed to use push pins and tacks on the cork board areas anyway.

Just use command products. They have one that is a nail instead of a hook. Buy however many you need.

I have 3 bulletin/whiteboards and a frame that I will be hanging up with command products.

Use command hooks - check the weight limits which are clearly listed for every hook and figure out the type and size you need.

I’ve heard that command hooks will come down eventually. These Frames will be going above my bed so I need them to be secure. I’ve never used command hooks before, but for those of you who have how long do they last?

Assuming the surface is free of extreme amounts of dust, until you take them off. Just make sure to get command hooks that are certified for the particular weight of the frame and you won’t have to worry about getting crushed by falling pictures.

Oh alright, thanks for your responses everyone, you have put my mind at ease!

Since they are just large frames, although they don’t weigh a lot, go with the picture hanging strips. They can tolerate up to 16 pounds.

I have the sticky nail sawtooth strips for my bulletin boards and will be using the picture strips for a large frame of mine. Don’t use hooks.

Thank you for being specific Niquii77, I have found the command strips for pictures online, and will avoid the hooks.
