How to improve writing score?

My writing score is around 60-65. And I need to bring it up to 80, or perfect.

I have already gone through the entire barron writing book, read silver turtle's guide. Now what? :(

What is troubling you? The multiple choice, or the essay? For the multiple choice read sparknotes 7 deadly errors. That’s helped me a lot for the mc portion of writing. I went from a 600 on practice tests to a 760-800 in a few days. I’m fine with the writing portion. I need help on math and cr lol.

Me too. I suck on CR. But I’d gladly help you with the math if you want. (:

Cool, I’ll read sparknotes! Thanks

Yeah, I’m around a 610-640 in CR. :frowning:
Were you always good at the math portion of the SAT? I’ve gone through Gruber’s and I understand the concepts, but I cannot recall them while taking a practice test.

Yeah I got a 540 on writing and a 590 on critical reading with a close to 700 on math last year.

And come on guys, math just takes some formulas and tips to remember (like if a problem looks like this, do this) and you can always check your answers. I think math is the easiest score to bring up since its so practical and you can always check if your wrong.

Sorry Im no real help to you guys though, Im in the same boat.

I’ve been always god on the math portion. In the beginning I sucked because I rarely read the question (yeah. seriously), but now after doing the right thing and rereading the question, it helped a lot.

And I’d be glad to help if you have a math question! :)

@kimmylouie: Were you always good at the math section or did it take in-depth practice to get the score you wanted?

I’ve always been good. In the beginning I got around high 600s, and that was because I never read the question… hehe

No the math sections are easy for me, I just procrastinate…a lot on them. Just the CR and the writing. The CR gives me the most problem though.

^^Sorry wrong thread.

This was really helpful for me: http://www.jcatalfano.com/jcatalfano/studentlink_files/SAT%20Essential%20Grammar.pdf

Sparknotes is also great as mentioned before. And Barron’s 2400 goes in depth if you have more time.
