hi I am senior in high school and only have 2 friends tha like me for who I am. I look nerdy but don't act like it. I like sports, girls, music just like anyone else. I am nice. I try my best but I can't maintain a conversation. Also I feel people judge me and don't want to be friends with me b/c how I look. Can any of you guys relate? I mean do your friends like you for who you are and not just you looks and athletic ability. Also how can i make friends? I am going to college and scared that I will have an anti social life.

I would suggest that you join clubs that intrigue you. You’ll be enabled to establish common interests with alternative members, which could serve as a foundation in the development of your friendship.

At the beginning of college, everyone wants to make friends. It happens without anyone really trying. :)

Anyways, if you feel all that’s dragging you down is the way you look, why not get a makeover. This probably sounds really weird coming out of a guy, but it’ll help.

Example: What type of shoes do you wear? Don’t wear sandals usually (ABSOLUTE NO WITH SOCKS), dirty running shoes, weird looking leather shoes, etc. If you want to go simple/cheap, find some normal converse shoes.

Or get a haircut maybe. Get something that doesn’t look nerdy.

As for clothes, nothing fancy is needed. If all you have/can afford are t-shirts and jeans, make sure they fit well. Jeans should be straight cut, and should cover the tops of your shoes. Hard to go wrong really with wearing jeans. ** The biggest thing is make sure your pants aren’t too short. **Don’t tuck in t-shirts, etc. The only thing that should be tucked in are dress shirts (at this stage in life), and I don’t advise wearing actual dress shirts with jeans. Casual button downs with Jeans are usually okay. As for shirts, make sure they actually fit… Like not too baggy, not too tight. Your shirt should end like where the pockets of your pants start.

Finally, if you think it’s because of your glasses (I don’t know if you wear em, but…) consider buying a bit more stylish looking glasses (often nowadays simple black plastic framed ones) or contacts.

Lulz… I can’t believe a I just gave this sort of lesson. ■■■…

If you feel it’s your personality, try finding some common interests. That may be your problem here

You should be the host for this show

OMG, high waters.

Haha yes, they look absolutely terrible…

I’ve been trying to get my research partner to change his dress habits… but he refuses to budge… unfortunately.

But this is not to say I never looked sort of bad either. I made a pretty big transformation IMO from 7th grade until now
