How to pick examples for the essay?

Hey I am taking the December 6 SAT and I really need help on my essay. I take way too long deciding what examples I should use. I have heard that people use examples that they have decided upon before entering the testing area? How would you do this? Would you just pick very broad topics? Can anyone give me some examples of examples that can be decided before taking the test?

Yeah, you are in the same position as I am.
Hello, anyone can help us?

prewrite your examples.
In the testing room, just assimilate them with your topic

My examples come from
-The Graphs of Wrath
-Their Eyes Were Watching God
-Beowulf
-Grendel
-etc.

Remember to keep a broad range of literature, nonfiction based examples, and made up personal examples.

The topic for Oct and Nov were pretty hard if you didn't have strong examples to fall on.

I usually use examples from literature, history, past experiences

There are some classics like To Kill A Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, Grapes of Wrath..etc that you can relate to a lot of the topics because they're usually about social issues.

I read alot of sample essay and most had intro, 2 examples (alot of them had 1 from literature and one from history), and conclusion. It helps to do a brief outline ...a very brief one in the beginning that you can refer back to. It's not very creative if you do it this way..but you'll probably get 8+ if you do. At least from my own experience.

i use examples from books that i really really like. unfortunately there arent too many of them. but definitely use things that you know well. personal experience can be powerful, but usually is not.

Knowing general U.S./world history will help (though you can always fudge or completely make up facts, since they're not allowed to grade you on historical or literary accuracy). Also, I'll add 1984 to the list of books you can usually use.

CB loves the ROSE strategy-Readings, Observations, Studies, and Experiences, and trains teachers with it. Make sure to use SAT vocabulary and to run a common thread through your essay that ties each example to your thesis.
