How to succeed in AP Chem?

The thing is, I skipped Pre AP chem and regular chemistry. Now I heard that this was a bad idea just by lurking around this site, but I refuse to believe that AP chem is a guaranteed fail if you've never had any chem experience before.

Regardless, I still want the opinion of others besides my own.

The AP chem book for my school has everything you need to know about chem (for the exam, perhaps?), and it's basically the Pre AP chem book but with more info. If I spend hours every single day on this book, doing my best to completely cover each section, and with the teacher's help (if I end up needing it), will the AP exam and AP chem classes be possible?

I'm talking about completely devoting myself to my school work, I don't have anything like sports holding me back either.

well, i think you should not ignore sports as it is integral part of your extracurricular activites list, and as you may know extracurriculars are considered as crucial element by the majority of collges.
Regarding your AP chem,as long as you have determenation ,time managment and good test prep book, you will do awesome job and get the grade of ur dreams.
i strongly recommend you barrons AP chem to be used as a revision guide,in my point of view it is amazing.i firmly believe that u can easily get a 4 or 5 in APs even with self study .good luck

Don’t work yourself to death! Remember that one class is not your life, other things are important too. Also, colleges look at other things beyond your HS transcript.
