How to withdraw college applications?

My son was accepted ED to his first choice school and needs to withdraw the other applications he sent to schools with early deadlines. He says he hasn't found a "withdraw" option on the common ap. Is it sufficient to simply email the admission office to withdraw? We want to be certain to play by the rules now that he has a binding offer. He already refused the early action offer he received from U Mich so this is for pending applications only. Thanks in advance!

Just email them.

He can just email them. However, if he has applied for financial aid at his ED school, be sure you have had a chance to review the FA package before he withdraws his other applications. If for some reason he does not have his FA package yet, he can ask for an extension on accepting the ED offer (and withdrawing other apps) until he has reviewed it and you confirm you can afford the school.

I’ve also seen where you can sign in to your account at each university, even if you used the Common App and there’s usually a withdrawal link.
