A school asks me to write an autobiography, but I don't know how to write a short autobiography. What should be included? What values most in an autobiogrphy for application? Can anyone give me some ideas? Just tell me whatever you know, or give me an example. Thank you very much.

Pick a theme, (e.g. my development through my musical career, how my taste in books changed over time, how I changed my approach to my social life from age 3 to 17…whatever). It makes it much easier to write a short autobiography. Remember, they really don’t care where you were born, (unless it shaped you somehow,) or the other facts about your life, they want to get to know something about who you are and to see if you can think and write.

Thank you. Any other hint?

Oh how outdated and old-fashioned an ordinary written autobiography is in times of the Internet. Online autobiographies outperform the written stuff by far. They are searchable, can have filters applied, and also: To learn something about a person you don’t have to read through all the pages and pages of boring stuff just to find the information you were looking for.
