How was my essay?

Small decisions one

examples-Rosa Parks(to get up from her seat, a very small decision that resulted in black equality)

To Kill a Mockingbird(2 examples)-to talk back to miss caroline/correct her(ruined her school experience) and taking objects from Boo's tree which resulted in Boo feeling welcomed and saving Jem and Scout from Bob Ewell

Great Gatsby-Tom informing Wilson of Gatsby's car...led to Gatsby's death and Wilson's suicide.

How did I do?

I should gave used TKAM… They all certainly seem to apply, it’s just a matter of whether your writing was satisfactory.

Well Tom knew what he was doing… haha not that small of a decision. Overall though, I like the TKM example, pretty good. I used The Great Gatsby too, but I said that over time Gatsby made many small decisions that led to his socially innept and selfish persona.

so what do you think? do i have a chance at a 12?

I feel like in To Kill a Mockingbird, the major consequences weren’t as big as they were in the other 2 examples.

The Rosa Parks one lead to great victories for the Civil Rights movement and the Great Gatsby lead to many deaths and broken hearts.

You can’t tell just by examples, sorry. But everything’s pertinent, so you’re certainly on the right track for a 12. But still a loooooooong way from being certain. You’re just gonna have to wait till the 20th.

okay thanks! I used good vocabulary like Rosa Parks’s stand for equality galvanized Black Americans across the nation to fight the battle for equality(or something like that)… a little disappointed, in retrospect, that i forgot about Scarlet Letter

wow. Now that I think about it. Rosa parks was briliant. Fantastic example!

Yes, you have an excellent shot at a 12

rosa parks and the gatsby example are beast. wish i thought of those

If you write eloquently, and filled up 1.5 + pages (and with 3 examples you’d better have), then it’s almost a sure 12.

What about more obscure examples? I used The Gambler by Fyodor Dostoevsky and Requiem for a Dream…will those do better or worse than the ones that everyone uses? (The Scarlet Letter, 1984, etc.)
