How would you rank the Ivies?

surely brown>>>dartmouth??? and cornell is clearly the worst Ivy

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c222/lordofthenight/ThreadResurrection.jpg

Oh no, not this thread again

They're all great schools. But from my own personal bias:

Columbia

Brown

Princeton

Yale

Harvard

UPenn

Cornell

Dartmouth

u mad, brah?

You must be referring to his support of King Charles I.

Now if only I was a UVa alumnus.

Heh. Kind of glad that this thread was resurrected as I didn't see those amusing quips.

Here's my ranking. See if you can figure out the rational:

Columbia
Harvard
Yale
Dartmouth
Cornell
UPenn
Princeton
Brown

Try this on for size. Harvard is the largest nexus of scholarly and scientific output by far. It also anointed itself as a national university long before any other had such a notion and has grown in that role. Princeton has since the time of Woodrow Wilson, looked inward, preoccupied with perfecting his image of what the college experience should be. It has the largest endowment per student of any university and spends more of its endowment on current operations of any school. If you are trying to figure out which school to bomb in order to disrupt the American way of life, pick Harvard. If you want to pick the most intensely cultivated college experience the world has ever known, pick Princeton.

Dartmouth is the worst!!!!!!!! Terrible, just awful!!! It's borderline community college level.

Why not share your rational, Cayuga? You haven't hesitated in that regard before, faulty as some of your judgments have been from my perspective, as I've pointed out.

I think you meant "rationale"

Epic picture, modestmelody :) wish they'd let us embed that stuff in the threads

edit: modestmelody I think you also meant "rationale" ;)

Penn grammar check FTW!!

i hate doing my peronal preferences, because i dont like picking a top choice... cuz ill be so upset when i get rejected...
but here goes.

MY PREFERENCES
(has nothing to do with official ranks, quality, etc... some i ont even have a reason 4)

1 Yale
2 Columbia
3 Princeton
4 Cornell
5 Brown
6 Dartmouth
7 Harvard
8 Penn

buttt i keep changing my mind. and i think part of the reason harvards so low is because i dont think i can get in.

I meant to type [sic]. I'm writing my thesis, I'm allowed to have my mind work faster than my fingers right now.

There are many times I wish they allowed us to embed pictures on here. This is another one I like:

hehe nice

What's your thesis on? I remember the glory days of thesis writing...somewhere between 80 and 90 torturous pages (but enjoyable in retrospect) ;)

It's chemistry. No title yet, but I bet it wouldn't mean anything.

I thought that was poison ivy.

I'm quite fond of Hedera helix, myself.

"Here's my ranking. See if you can figure out the rational:

Columbia
Harvard
Yale
Dartmouth
Cornell
UPenn
Princeton
Brown "

alphabetical order using the last letter of each name, (panultimate letter settles ties)

Penn

Brown

Harvard

Princeton

Yale

Dartmouth

Columbia

Cornell

wow how many ivy ranking threads r there?

Harvard

Yale

Princeton

Brown

Columbia

Cornell

Dartmouth

Penn

but I definitely prefer Dartmouth and Penn over Cormell

For Undergrad:
Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, Penn
For Grad:
Harvard, Yale, Penn, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, Princeton

BIG Diff eh?

In terms of prestige within the US (well MA):
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia/Dartmouth/Penn
Brown
Cornell
