How's Georgia State university for a definite Journalism Major?

bumP, please...

I believe ohio university is in the top 15 or 10 (but don't quote me on it)

First, like one of the previous responses already said, Georgia State is not across the street from Georgia Tech. It's main undergraduate housing is but the actual campus is in the center of downtown. There are some non-traditional students but the last I heard, 98% of the fall 2004 freshmen class were traditional aged. Most of the non-traditionals you will see are transfers. It is a very urban campus and we do not have rolling green hills mostly because the land is very expensive and as land becomes available, Georgia State buys it and builds something on it.

For journalism, while I don't know much about the program since I am a managerial science major and aviation certificate undergraduate - I do know that UGA does have a very strong journalism program. If you get into UGA, I would suggest you go there. GSU's strongest schools are business, law, and policy studies.

I am sorry to say, though that an 1100 SAT will probably not be enough for UGA. The GSU fall 2004 freshmen class had an average SAT of 1094 and an average HS GPA of 3.34. I believe UGA's is 1230 and 3.5.

Either way, for all of Georgia's public research universities (Ga State, Ga Tech, & UGA) they use your freshmen index to determine if you are eligible for admission. The minimum freshmen index for research universities is 2500 (HS GPA x 500 + SAT composite).

I hope this helps and good luck.
