Does anybody know the stats for how many get interviewed v. actually accepted? Also, does getting an HPME interview essentially guarantee you a spot at Northwestern undergrad?

bump please...

i want to know to... i got a letter today saying -- "I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you an interview for the Honors Program in Medical Education... etc..."

What are the stats for those who were offered interviews?

my stats:
2270 on SAT; 35 on ACT; 800 on Chem and Math II, 740 on Physics; 4.0 unweighted GPA, All A's (4.566 weighted)

i thought my essays were fine and my recs were great... i guess i just wasn't the type of applicant they want.. that's ok.. it's just a program (i still have the school to be accepted/rejected from)

^peytoncline...yea i was so surprised that someone from my school today got rejected as well...he probably had similar stats to you. I think you have a great shot at getting in to the regular school though!

Haha, with those stats getting rejected, I don't even know why I applied then. I wasn't too surprised with my rejection anyway. Oh well, it's not like it's a huge deal, like getting into a college.

^Yeah, that's right. I'm not too concerned. To be honest, I did kind of throw the application together at the last second (a couple days before the deadline) because I was so caught up with other college application stuff (which I thought was more important). If I get into Northwestern, I'll be a very happy camper.

No one should fret about getting rejected from HPME. It's probably the toughest program to get into in the entire nation. A friend of mine got into Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford, yet didn't even get an interview to HPME.

Peytoncline, you'll get into NU with those stats I believe that won't be a problem.

My friend got an interview for HPME, he has a 4.6 and 2380. He got accepted EA to Yale but if he gets into HPME I think he'd rather go to NU instead.

Shoot. I have similar stats. Almost exactly the same.

oh man, this is scary. i'm still waiting

Is HPME harder to get into than Harvard, Princeton or Yale?

and How many people does HPME accept?

HPME accepted 35 out of 800(pr-qualifed), about 4%, HYP accepted 8~9 %, STATs at same level, HPME required whole day in campus interview, so HPME can pick up the ones they want more precisely.

Like I said, it’s harder to get into. You have to apply just to get an application lol.

did anyone get in?

^well, ~30-40 people get into HPME every year, so i’d assume so

I was surprised I even got the app after the prequal. But was rejected back in february. After seeing the super low acceptance rate though, I don’t feel bad at all. Haha.

i got into NW undergrad… but no mention of HPME. Did anybody hear from HPME??

Does anyone know how/when HPME students will be notified?? I thought it would come with the Northwestern admission.

Yeah I just got the admit letter to undergrad, I think we will receive a separate letter for HPME.

I was interviewed for HPME and just got my digital acceptance letter to Northwestern. I am eager to hear from HPME! Will the letter be in the general undergrad acceptance packet or will it come separately? I am extremely eager to hear back.
If there are any current HPME students who can chime in as to how acceptances are delivered, please respond.
