What do you need to get in? All talent? All grades and some talent? Ha, something?

You--more or less--have to be accepted into the school in order to get into the MT program. Look up the requirements for FSU--I think 3.5 gpa and 26 on ACT (somewhere around there)--because they don't differ from the school of theatre or music. I think there might be SOME pull if you don't have the EXACT requirements to enter into FSU, but not much.

The newest Fall SAT average for Florida State is 1265 with a 28 ACT. Talent is very important...

Sorry I haven't been online much lately.

The audition (talent/performance) is the primary criteria being evaluated for admission to the Music Theatre program.
Admissions makes the academic admissions decisions based primarily on GPA and test scores.

The recommendation of the department can help a little bit with the Office of Admissions, but the academic credentials need to be within the range of students they accept.

It is possible for applicants to be accepted into the University but not the MT program (common) or the MT program but not the University. (This is uncommon because I try to talk to applicants before the audition who don't meet the academic criteria.)

Please let me know if you have other questions!
