This fall I took an SAT prep course right before the psat and I got a 225. I waited until march to take the test, but did very little prep between november and march and got a 2030 on the real thing. Obviously I was very dissapointed. can this score discrepancy be attributed to the timing of my prep?

For example...I got a 78 in writing in the fall and a 650 on the real sat.

For me my writing went down from a 73(0) to a 660 but my math only went down by ten and my writing got better. Still super disappointing but I stayed out late the night before and had terrible allergies so not the best environment for test taking.

Oh well. There’s the ACT and then retesting!

I think that they were all in the projected score bands, actually (albeit, the LOW side). I’m retaking. Wonder if I should try for the May SAT. I mean, this was my first try, so I didn’t do abysmally.

I’m a junior, it was my first time taking the SAT’s, and my studying consisted of taking the math section of a practice test the night before. I actually thought I did well on the CR and math sections at the time, but my PSAT scores were higher. I did better than I thought on the essay, though.

CR: 77 - 740
M: 67 - 640
W: 73 - 690

Overall, my SAT score was 100 points worse! Do you think a 2200 would be possible if I retake it in June? How much studying would I have to do?
