Huntsman-ers/ites (?) only!

actually im not applying huntsman, just wharton :)

I never mentioned my team won forth in the state (I quit science olympiad in 9th grade)
I don't think the high school team even got to states
The middle school won 2nd in the nation last year though

Sorry, Zirkon, I got you and flameball63 mixed up.

i'm applying to Hunstman RD... fun program guys!

I'm applying Huntsman RD as well. Can't wait (but only if deferred/rejected from ED choice).

Hi!
This is my first post. I just heard about this website recently, so I thought I'd try talking to some fellow stressed out seniors. First, I just wanna say that you guys are so well qualified! I'm a little worried about my SAT II's scores, and last year only 2 people from my school got accepted into Penn, and they applied to the College. So, how much do you think they weigh numbers, compared to what little personality comes through in the application?

Well from the people I know who got admitted to Upenn's college, there SAT scores are around 1400-1500. and SAT II scores are above 680. But, your admission depends on alot of other things such as the number of applicants at your school, class rank and such. But if you're applying to the Wharton school, they would ask for a higher SAT score than they do for the college.

Well, I applied ED to the Huntsman Program, though I'm not EDing the College or Wharton. My SAT is 1580, but my SAT II's are a bit iffy for Huntsman.

yo beech- what language?

Do you think if I applied with an under represented language like Arabic that I could get away with lower test scores -- ie 32 act and math IIc at around 700?

French, but it's weird b/c I'm not sure I like Fr that much anymore. Do you think I could change my language if I get in?

chewy- do you speak Arabic well? that's really cool, I think that's a bonus for you b/c all schools want diversity

i think they say you can change after you pass the proficiency test for your origina,l language

Yeah. They aren't all that fond of it, but they say it's definitely possible. Pending you prove your proficiency in the other language. It's also possible to do more than one, but one will end up being your target language while the other a supplementary.

yeah. right now i'm applying for spanish but i started teaching myself italian for fun. i think imma pursue that too

Yup, from what I heard from the representative who came to my school, she said that wharton might accept me for Chinese, but they would encourage me to study French as my target language

what else did the lady say freedomfries? Do they really rely on proficiency (level of) that much when considering a kid for Huntsman?

yup, and the only other thing i can think of is your math level prior to matriculation. It's preferrable to have taken Calculus

And then, there's the cutoff for SAT scores though. That's why I have already crossed out any possibility of me getting into the Huntsman Program. My scores are absolutely average. Good luck to everyone else though. All of us deserve Penn. :)

To Addon to this post: Has anyone applying to Huntsman been interviewed yet?

I have last Monday
