Huntsman-ers/ites (?) only!

Did you see your information/"Interview sheet"? I was asked nothing about my interest in business, because the sheet said: "international studies" as a major...so, no Wharton (which I am applying to ED if Huntsman rejects me...which is very very likely). Did that happen to you freedomfries?

Whoa, Catch-22, there are score cutoffs? I totally missed that part on their website...

Yeah...according to ppl that have gone and stayed at the Huntsman dorm...the avg. SAT for Huntsman in 1999 was a 1510. I guess they feel more comfortable with 1500+s.

hmmm...interesting...sigh thanks for that..erm...great bit of info, heh.

well, i didn't really see the interview sheet. But my interviewer said that she thought that my major was international studies too, so that's also what we talked about. Luckily, she's an American who grew up in China so she was interested in hearing what i had to say.

on another note, anyone worried about the social aspect of huntsman? I like to party, drink, smoke, etc. - anyone else applying to Huntsman like me?

hey dostovesky -- saw you at RUMUN :). tough luck with security council though. you were spain right? i took best in my committee (CCPCJ), we took outstanding small delegation as a school.

yo pennhomie....i didnt see you....congrats on your awards....my chair asked wat seniors were chill with not getting awards (and i said i didnt give abt awards_....my committee was amazing - we didnt work a LOT, but wen we did we were efficient....it was fun

by the way....kingb - i like to party too!

yo i heard advanced committees were awesome -- wish i could have gotten one. yeah i was definitely looking for you at awards, i figured being a future huntsman-er you'd own security council, but that's cool of you. hope you had a great time, the conference this year was really well done. i'm gonna miss it.

yea....im always on advanced committees....they are great.....the ppl were all very informed and there was no parliamentary procedure (we just talk)....i was on a first name basis with all the delegates (which is amazing)....plus, we had an AWESOME crisis friday night (china launched missiles at Taiwan)

may i inquire about the outcome? (i.e. Taiwan used their uber taiwan-ness to deflect the missles back and majorly whupped china's rear-end).

well...china attacked taiwan bcuz of the taiwanese referrendum on indpdnce.....taiwan had anti-ballistic misslie sistyem defense....so the missiles didnt hit....eventually, we de-escalated tensions between US and China by f ing over Taiwan....it was an interesting issue

anyway so how come i still haven't received my pin# and password

did anyone get their test-mediated proficiency test yet? What are we suppose to do w/ it?

Freedomfries, the tests are going to be some time in the first week of December (I think). Your counselor gets the test, and he/she has the responsibility of proctoring it for you.

well, i'm not sure i can do well on the test. I mean i can speak and read chinese up to a 6th grade level but have forgotten pretty much how to write it.

How could you've forgotten how to write it?...whoa.

well you know the characters, they're hard to remember...and besides i haven't been writing chinese for the past 5 yrs..

Whoa. Well, I guess you have to pray that it doesn't require much writing. But I am often stunned by kids like you (no offense)...I would've kept it up. I did keep it up. But, best of luck anyways. I doubt Huntsman cares much about "fluency" because don't they require only a "medium" proficiency in your target language? But, still... I kept up my study of it :) currently cracking Chinese literary analysis... However, I don't think it would keep you out. No point of worrying about it now. The proficiency tests are different from year to year, btw.
