Huntsman-ers/ites (?) only!

bah this is my first post in the huntsman thread. Probably because I'm not doing it. I wish there was this much stir over anthropology applicants.....

Whoa Chocoman...you are going to have 500+ posts (possibly 600) by the time of decisions...whoa!

i'll just try to be catch-22. i have a lot of "catch"-ing up to do
excuse the semi-pun.

I try. I'm hoping to have 500 by the 10th. I'll probably get it.

Most of my posts are relevant/ helpful too. Theres guys at the P'ton and Yale boards that have more than me but from posting in all their game threads.

I'm applying RD, which would probably automatically knock me out of the running. I'm very very interested in the international aspect, but now I'm not so sure about the business part... I just don't care enough about money. I find it hard to ever accept it from people and when I lend money, I usually don't want people to pay be back, unless it's a large sum, and then I usually don't even want them to pay me back in full. Not because I'm rich, but just because I feel so guilty and want to be a nice non-money-grubber. Pretty dumb reasoning I know. I should take Claudius's advice "Never a borrower nor a lender be."

But I love Huntsman...and it also has aspects of journalism and diplomacy, and business isn't just about money, so that's why I'm applying RD and then putting the College as my second choice!

btw, how much would being an IB diploma candidate help? Since the IB is international... or just not at all?

i was considering huntsman b4 but def not anymore.. three ppl in four yrs from my school have gotten into huntsman.. (yay so proud of them) and they weren't as great as some of you guys.. so do well on your essays and (i'm pretty sure an interview is important for huntsman..) .. good luck!

why aren't you considering the Program anymore, afaforce?

mostly cuz it's too late to actually become proficient in any language (i'm good, but not 'proficient') and also because i don't stand a fighting chance X)

are you applying RD? if you are, i def recommend you apply huntsman. i mean, you don't have to be fluent in any language at all. if you get good grades in your language classes, that's probably enough. what's far more important than your language skills are your recs, your EC's, and your essays. besides, if you apply to huntsman, you're essentially applying to penn TWICE! now who could pass that up?

lol I said 24 hours ago that I'd "probably" get 500 posts. Now look where I am.

are all your posts on the penn forums or where?

ah i can't. i applied to wharton early.. so no more chances for me to apply to penn until next year. heh. oh, man. the decision online password letter is on my desk right now.. nervous sweat

afa- i heard that people who are in wharton or the college can transfer into the huntsman program because quite a few people drop out after freshman year

I specifically asked if that was possible and they said it's not. Anyway, has anyone gotten an e-mail about the oral tests yet? I haven't

The notifications aren't coming by email. Paper Priority Mail!

lol i actually overnighted @ huntsman late sept/earlyoctober i don't remember.. (if ne1 has questions feel free to ask ^^)
and i asked how many ppl dropped out from previous yrs.. from the program.. altogether.. and inge (herman) said like.. very few/none/one.. idk gave me impression of nearly none. and apparently most of the ppl who "left" were kicked out.. like.. one or two

Afaforce, what did Inge say they looked for in applicants? (cliche question...I know...but I am still asking in case any of my friends apply next year...hehe.)

yeah .. one of my closest friends is in huntsman. if u have ne questions that would be unanswerable by anyone but a huntsmanite, feel free to ask me

Ok, question one. What kind of kid are they looking for? (scores, ECs, blah blah blah).
