i know someone who was in the college, but transfered into huntsman program in her sophomore year
i have a question, i just got my oral test notification, what do they test? should i be studying grammar?

lol sry catch, i actually found out that u asked this cuz u.. asked me to answer it from the other post

alright well, obviously they want a stellar kid. they must have great sat scores and ap scores.. she looked our stf over.. like we filled out this card that had activities, scores.. and my friend got something.. idk what it was.. not that great.. mid 1400s and she was like.. ur retaking this, right? and he was like yeah. and she's like.. yeah.. definitely.

extras.. i think the same goes.. u just have to stand out. show a lot of drive, passion....

okay, here's the thing i noticed. half of huntsman is asian. i'm not even kidding. so many, they're everywhere. and a lot of the ppl who got in for chinese were FROM china.. they moved here at a young age or stf like that.. that was my first awww =(
there are a lot of int'l students as far as i'm concerned.. some1 from australia, some1 from sudan, etc. biggest language is french, 2nd most popular is chinese, third is spanish.. something like that... um.... when i went it was midautumn festival.. the chinese got together and had a mooncake party o.0 haha yum...

oh yeah anyway the guy that got in last yr got 5's on 8 APs? by jr yr that is.. and he self studied at least 3 or 4 of those. he had a 1520 SAT, came from china early.. still isn't a citizen.. lost his father.. moved from alabama.. president of a few clubs, won some FBLA nationwide things, All state clarinetist for 2, 3 yrs?

you know, i have a story to tell all you huntsmanites. it's a horror story. there's a girl at huntsman right now.. in the frosh class.. who pretty much probably decided to go to huntsman because of its selectivity. while i was there she mentioned princeton quite a lot. she got into harvard/stanford/yale/princeton... u know.. like.. all of the places she applied, and she was, until her sr yr, intent on going into biology. and she was really, really good at it.
then she decided all of a sudden that she didn't want to sit in a lab for the rest of her life, applied to huntsman, got in, and is dreaming about princeton
someone else who realllly wanted to go to huntsman is now not there because of her and people like her. 0.0

does anyone know how many Huntsmans pple they accepted last year that was from PA? and I still haven't received any oral proficiency test... yikes... oh well, wharton will be nice...

man, lucky if ur gonna get into wharton for sure
they must have a list last yr.. however i can tell you from what i remember (staying w/ the frosh a few months ago) that
there... weren't many PAs that i remember. one from philly actually i think... i'd go w/ somewhere around 2, 3ish? .... maybe more. sorry, i just remember the nj-ers, some ny-ers, texas..

afaforce! I totally looked at your stats..dude! You should've applied Huntman!

AHHHH i was hoping nobody from this side of the board would see them

lol naw, i don't have much else going for me.. i did consider it because i really like french and i love int'l stf and.. business.. what else could i want? but huntsman is pretty restricting w/ its courseload.. they say it's not but from the looks of it ur stuck until at least sr yr
so if i decided i hated it, i'd have to drop everything

lol. Cool. I hope we all get into Wharton. It would be so cool/weird to meet you guys.

lol i know, right?
we have to have like.. a CC gathering haha.. and try to guess who's who!!

um. provided we go to the same school.

anyway, lunch time. wendys taco salad.. =P

well, are there anyone who got in without taking the oral test?

There's one girl that got in withouth the oral test, but that was because she submitted her IB Lang. score, and there was a oral component in there that proved her to be absolutely efficient. So, I would say...no. Everyone gets an oral test except if you got an IB test up your belt.

i was reading last year's, and some of the ppl who got in never received their oral tests; i really think it's for language border line ppl; my language is borderline, there's another kid who got a test who claims that he didn't test well on his language sat II; you don't see of the ppl who got 800's and AP 5's getting the test

Really? I am pretty sure that the person you are refering to from last year's threads is Ashely, she is the IB lang. girl.

if the letters were postmarked on Wednesday, will they arrive on monday for those of us on the west coast?

Also what about our November SAT IIs? If they mailed letters out on Wednesday they would have only had one day to review all the tests. Doesn't that seem a little bit premature?? or rushed to say the least?

i got the letter today (i live in d.c.). woohoo!

king- what were your language stats?

I just got the letter beechling, and I can assure you, it's not a boarderline-language test. I have 800 in Chinese, and shooting for a dual-language diploma from IB in Chinese and English.

catch- i was only making an observation based on my scores, besides, i thought it would make you feel better- b/c you could then just assume that u were too good for the test

No...not really...I would never think myself too good for the test....haha. Thanks for thinking that though, you are very considerate (I am still toying around with the idea that they are still likely to reject me...). I still can't believe this... Good luck everyone!

def. not borderline. 800 on Spanish SAT2. 5 on AP Language and 5 on AP Lit. Spent junior year of high school studying/living w/ a host family in Spain

does anyone here know what the average schedule for a first year huntsmant student look like?
