Is adding the "Student Advantage" to my incoming freshman's Husky card a good thing? It supposedly gives him discounts at over 15,000 places, but none of them sound particularly useful (like online shopping.) It also mentions discounts on campus food, which would be useful, but I'm wondering how prevalent those discounts are, on campus. Do most students take the option? Thanks for any insight.

the only case where getting the student advantage card is worth it is if you are from NYC/Philly/DC and plan on taking the train up and down. Otherwise there arent really great deals

you dont get discounts on train tickets around the holiday weeks anyway, which makes it even more pointless.

My parents got this card for me in some care package. I put it in my wallet and then forgot about it until I found it a month or so ago. It really has no purpose unless you take the time to go and look for the deals. Personally I say its a waste of money as I never used it and it takes more work to find out what deals you can get then you get from using it. I’d say no.
