I actuall have an award!

I've been very worried about the awards section of my application, so imagine my delight at being called in to the principal so he congratulate me on being a national achievement commended scholar. I get my picture taken and hung on the wall with all the other national merit commended scholars, and I'm just really excited. :)

Congratulations, Celebrian25!!!! Here's a high-5 for you!!!! I'm so very happy for you!!!! Not only will your achievement look good on your applications, it will also inspire others who follow in your high school footsteps. Let us all know how your college selection process is going. We're proud of you!

Awwwwwwwwwww, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! celebrian!!!!!! What a wonderful accomplishment!! I'm sure you have brought much pride to your family and to your school. Enjoy your fame!! ~berurah

Congrats & three cheers all around!! And it's more than just filler for applications. You should be proud of yourself and your accomplishment, and don't EVER let anyone tell you otherwise. Go for it!

congrats! :) This calls for a Celebriation! (More coming I expect)

Woohoo!! Way to go! Thrilled for you. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Congratulations! That is terrific news!

Kudos, too, to your school for honoring the commended students as well as the Achievement and Merit semi-finalists and putting their pictures on the wall.

At S's school, only the National Merit semi-finalists got honored in public and will get their name on a plaque. National Merit commended students have not been officially notified of their honor. Thus far, neither have any of the Achievement semifinalists or commended students.

I think that it's wonderful when schools take every opportunity to celebrate students' awards, particularly academic ones.

Congratulations to you, great news.
