These are the schools I applied to, I am currently a senior in HS in NY. I plan on studying journalism.

University of Kentucky Lexington
University of Missouri (Mizzou)
Ball State University
Ohio University- Athens
SUNY Albany
Temple University

BTW- I dont think I would get into the Mizzou Journalism program because of my grades but I would probably just get into the school itself and then try to work my way into the Journalism.

How do you rank/group these schools? What are the best values for out of state students? Please take into account academics/journalism major/cost/campus life when ranking.

Ive actually already got into the EW Scripps school of journalism @ OhioU, im really happy about it as it was a bit unexpected(thought I could get into school, not the Jschool)

The total cost per year (without aid) would probably be around 30-35K…closer to the 30K side. Temple and Missouri are the only two that might be too expensive, we shall see. One of the many reasons I like Temple other than academics is because it’s the ideal distance for me from my home to the school, and I prefer a urban area. But I heard Temple is in a pretty rough part of Philly.
