What other schools were you guys considering before deciding on ND?

well i got into ND EA so i didnt apply to a lot of the schools i was going to. but the other ones i got into EA that i declined were:

Villanova, Indiana with $, and Wisconsin

and i was also going to apply to these others but I would have chosen ND over them as well:

Duke, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Boston College, and others

GO IRISH!!!

Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Washington and Lee, U of Richmond, Miami U, and Franklin and Marshall.

but as they said on all that promotional material... Nowhere else but Notre Dame!

nice, good schools. I chose ND over Northwestern, Georgetown, Berkeley, and Boston College.

and haha seriously...nowhere else but notre dame is there cooperation and a deep sense of community in addition to pound-you-in-the-ass academics.

Son turned down...SUNY Binghamton, University of Delaware, George Washington University (Presidential Scholarship), Villanova, Boston College

So Happy to be part of the Irish!!!

D turned down Emory, Colgate,Villanova and Bucknell

UCLA in-state.

University of Texas - in-state

Union, University of Delaware, Bucknell, Lehigh, Colby, Villvanova, and putting name on waitlist at UPenn

My daughter chose ND over Georgetown, UVA, Carnegie Mellon.

Northwestern, Vanderbilt full ride, georgetown, BC, UofI, WUSTL

^wow, that's commitment right there. turning down a full ride to Vandy...

S-Yale, Duke, Vandy, BC

^omg r u serious? nd over duke? (that's right...who cares about yale) why?

because nd is nd

i don't think thats too surprising... i think that ND is certainly on par with duke

I love this thread...

MITpwnsnoobs69:

S chose ND over those schools because they aren't lying when they say they have something everyone else doesn't. Although they really are intangible and can't be measured, the sense of family & community, history and tradition, and faith are very much in evidence, and at least to us, feel tangible.

It was the right choice for him and he never looked back. Yes, as parents, it was difficult at the time to bypass Yale and Duke.

^what year is he now? is he happy/comfortable with his decision or does he regret it?

He will be a sophomore this year. He has no regrets, is extremely happy with his decision, and would make the same one again.
