I'm from India, and a first generation student.. I applied to:
University of Kansas
University of Missouri- St. Louis
University of Missouri- Columbus
Washington University
Some other schools I don't remember... I feel like my life is down the drain because of my poor performance in H.S.

I think you have a good shot at most of the schools on that list. The only one that I'd probably consider a reach school is Washington University.

A great thing that I see in your transcript is improvement in grades over the years. Sure, you got a few C's/D's in your freshman year, but you obviously worked hard to get A's later on, and that's what matters. Your SAT I and SAT II scores are great. You also have a lot of community service.

A few things that an admissions committee might be concerned about are the fact that you waited until your junior year to pursue your activities. They like to see active involvement in extra-curriculars.

However, never fear about Washington University. One thing I noticed from your transcript is that when you started taking Honors and AP classes, you began doing well. From that, I get the idea that you are a smart person that needs to be challenged with difficult courses. Otherwise, you get bored. Maybe Washington University will see that and think, "Gee, maybe this kid will do well at a challenging university like ours."

I agree. Although you started off rather weak, you ended on a high note and to colleges, that's very commendable. You took difficult classes and you succeeded, that is always something the like to see. As far as chances, I would say that you have a good shot at all of them, including Washington University in St. Louis, because your credentials indicate that you're an intelligent person and the fact that you didn't distinguish yourself as a total nerd makes you unique, and that's what colleges today are looking for.

" and I'm getting seriously optimistic about what would happen if I don't get accepted into any.."

uh....thats good...i guess... unless you meant "pessimistic".... otherwise, thats kinda weird that you're getting all happy about not getting into any schools....
also, why KU and no Mizzou or K-State? dont like cats? also, did you apply to the KU honors program? the priority deadline was jan.15 but you can still send it in. i still need to do that too. id say you're in everywhere except washU, where those lack of ECs are going to kill you. your grades remind me of my brothers....he had similar SATs, and absolutely no ECs. he was rejected at WashU, but now he goes to a small private college in kansas(bigs schools like KU werent his thing). he has a 3.96~ GPA now in college as a chemistry major and pretty much top of his class, he'll be transferring this fall(hopefully) as a junior. maybe you can do the same if WashU doesnt work out for you and you still want to go for something "more" than just a state uni experience. good luck!

Missouri University at St. Louis= Mizzou... I did apply to Mizzou, 2 locations. Is Missouri University different than Mizzou? If it is, what are my chances to Mizzou?

i think you need to learn about the schools you applied to a little bit. mizzou is the shortened name for missouri at columbus, not st. louis. it's what it says on their ball jerseys. and id say you have good chances at KU and the M's.

Mizzou is in Columbia, not Columbus.

Your life is certainly not down the drain. You have a good chance at KU and Mizzou. UM-St Louis sounds like a safety to me, but I'm not too familiar with it. Wash U is a reach, but a possibility.

Lawrence, KS is a fun town. You'd be surprised how many students we get from St. Louis.

I went to KU, I would be shocked if you were not accepted.

So, since a private university is a reach for me, does that hypothetically mean I didn't have to do as much work? Like, I could've had 300 hours, and say a 3.5 GPA? And/or a 4.5 both semesters for senior year?
