man, that spot could have been mine.

peppamintt, I could not agree more. I know this girl who had a 3.8 GPA and is the editor in chief of the college newspaper, etc. Amazing girl, got rejected from UCLA.

i have nothing against the OP, but like if ur rejected and u hear something like this, it just seems so unfair. i wish i knew this persons name, i would have told on him =|

no offense.

I think it’s ridiculous, though, that people are telling him to come clean. Do you honestly think he will? When he’ll be rejected for SURE?

I’m just shocked he even posted this information on this forum.

Sorry, I have to say this…you would probably fit in perfectly at Berkeley! You should go there. I think I have to agree that you took a spot from someone who didn’t lie. There are so many opportunities out there. I can’t imagine that you would have to lie to get your way. This country makes every possible concession for foreign students.

If he’s going to UCB, he better not tell anyone about this…competitive students will do anything to eliminate more competition. x_x

Sorry, I’m just really sensitive about academic dishonesty.

what i wanna know is, why didnt he just apply to grad school? if he already has a degre.e

makes me want to reconsider going to berkeley with so many ugly people, not one hot person in the berkeley creepy pic thread and high minded people, i think there was a study done where people who thought they were highly ethical and moral, lawyers businessmen and such, were in fact not so, and engineers and accountants or people who deal with money were more so, kind of strange

Leave us ugly people alone. (:<

I remember that schools can rescind your BA/BS degree even after you’ve graduated from the school. So the worst case would be spending 2 hard working years and tons of ca$h for nothing I guess. No big deal.

@Rexte: I thought there were a couple of attractive people on the Berkeley thread

^^ lies!

There was a time when I would have probably been angry at your actions OP. You know, taking spots from more deserving individuals, etc…

But now, I could really give a shi.t… Good for you! You’ve realized what life is all about. Lying, cheating, stealing, doing anything and everything you can to eff over your fellow man and advance yourself. That’s the goal folks. Survival of the fittest and all that jazz.

Odds are, nothing bad will come of this. You’ll graduate, and go on to have a successful career. That UCSD degree will open doors for you.

You have a gift OP, deceiving others and not getting caught is a gift. Make sure you take advantage of it.

Just think, you can go back to Korea after you’ve graduated, and impress all your friends and family with your American education and degree!

Wow congrats. Even though I tend to say that transfers need to list past attendance of schools or they’ll be caught. It looks like you proved me wrong and probably a lot of people. Chances are you won’t be caught. I remember reading a thread on the USC Accepted decisions on how someone actually explained his/her whole ordeal about cleaning up their tracks. This situation does make a lot of people mad because you lied about your past and you got in. But really I guess you had to do what was necessary to get in.

We should just change our school motto:

“UC: we all lied to get here!”

Well, yes…more realistically speaking, the OP probably won’t ever get caught. And life isn’t fair.

BUT MAYBE SOMEONE FROM UC IS READING THIS THREAD?

^nope.

Just as well I guess. Makes me feel A LOT better when I purposely give the wrong answer to my class mates.

Them: Do you know whether the parasympathetic or sympathetic branch of the nervous system innervates smooth muscle in blood vessels?

Me: Neither, it’s entirely controlled by the release glutamate from the Neurohypophysis.

See, the trick is to make it sound as legitimate as possible.

Oh God, that’s horrible. I could never do that.

You’re gonna get eaten alive at UCB…

One of the things I’m scared of, actually. I can never say no to people needing my help, and can’t bring myself to try to “root out competition”.

It’s not uncommon to have your labs and experiments messed with by people trying to give themselves an edge.

Just a heads up.
