I freaking swear...

We could play NJIT at the playground and still find a way to lose because it's not the Dean Dome...ughhh...tonight's game SUCKED. I'm very disappointed in Marcus [Ginyard] and Deon [Thompson]...these guys are seniors and should not let the crowd get to them. Our FRESHMEN outplayed them tonight. I usually stick up for the seniors...but tonight was inexcusable on their parts. And it's not because they can't play...it's because they showed no intensity, no heart, no enthusiasm whatsoever. Both of these guys have won three times AT cameron indoor....they should be able to play at Littlejohn. The freshmen played with more intensity than they did. If it were up to me (which it isn't), I'd start Dexter Strickland and one of the Wear twins over Marcus and Deon.

(I'm talking basketball if you guys haven't noticed...sorry, just needed to vent about tonight's frustrating loss)

I completely understand how your feeling. The problem is we don’t have a solid point guard. Drew just isn’t good enough to run an offense the way Roy wants it to be done. The past 6 years we’ve had great PG in Lawson and Felton and now that we don’t…it’s going to be a long year.

Yeah. I think Larry is doing a respectable job at the PG position; he actually leads the ACC in assists. He’s no Lawson or Felton though (their talents are just different…Larry’s a passer, while Felton and Lawson could be drivers when necessary). I’m just disappointed by our seniors’ apparent lack of effort tonight. They need to pick up our team and be the ones to be able to play in tough environments…however, they were outplayed and outhustled by our freshmen tonight…if I were Roy I’d have just left the freshmen in during the second half because our starters were inefficient at best (Graves had a few good moments and didn’t really make too many boneheaded plays…but his good moments were few and far between), and terrible at worst (Thompson and Ginyard combined for over 10 turnovers).

I could understand if any of the other freshmen had been rattled…but it seemed like our seniors were the ones who played the worst…Dexter Strickland had a pretty good game actually, 17 or 18 points, with several assists. He looks as though he’s more comfortable running the point now than he was in November, which is good. He’ll be a dangerous combo guard next year.

I think Drew is very underrated as a PG. Just because he doesnt throw up points like Felton and Lawson doesnt mean he cant run an offense. Our problem is the lack of experience on the team. There are 9 freshmen and sophomores, but only three juniors and seniors. The blame doesnt rest solely with Drew.
