I got a D freshman year, will that Camilo my chances at good colleges?

I want to get into university of Michigan, or a school on that level. My grades are now finalized for my freshman year
English 11-A
AP world History-A
Physics-B+
Tech-A
Health+Gym-A+
Precalculus-D

My overall gpa is still decent, but I am afraid that one class will hurt my chances badly. I also heard you need to get higher than average test scores for the school you want to apply to in order to make up for a bad grade, which I don’t nessecarily think I can do.

Sorry, I meant kill my chances not Camilo lol

why were you taking precalculus as a freshman? You obviously weren’t prepared. If you get almost perfect grades in tough classes the rest of your high school career you could still be in the running for some good colleges. I don’t think UCs look at freshman year so you could look at those maybe.
Make sure to work on extracurriculars and try for some awards to help stand out.
