I got a D in AP Government, but its not an A-G requirement.what are the chances of getting into UCSC

I fulfilled all of my A-G requirements for UC Santa Cruz before senior year, but I ended up getting a D in my Government class this semester. the UCSC requirements page states,“if an applicant had notified our campus of receiving a grade of D or F in any ‘a-g’ course in their senior year, that student would not have been selected for admission by UC Santa Cruz. All students offered admission to UCSC are held to earning grades of C or higher (or the equivalent) in their senior-year courses or their admission will be canceled.”

I’ve passed all of my required courses with an A or B, but it says students offered admission are held to earning grades of C or higher in their senior year.so, I’m not quite sure if the D is going to be a big problem because technically Gov. is an elective…I also received a 2.667 because of the D, will not getting a 3.0 last semester ruin my chances?

Yes, there is a chance you will be rescinded. Contact your GC and contact UCSC immediately to see what can be done. Most schools are willing to work with you and not rescind but only if you let them know ASAP. If you wait until you send in your final transcript then you will be rescinded.
