Nothing here either-- Did any Ailey applicants hear?

I haven't heard.

People were accepted today still? Or is it just the rejections that're going out at this point?

My daughter hasn't heard yet either.

why do colleges think it's better to send out rejections later?

i mean i dont c why theyd reject me after telling me there was a problem with my financial aid...

you may not be rejected..i'm just assuming i am bc people in my area who applied found out they got in two days ago while i still haven't heard anything. it just seems like they sent out acceptances and waitlist letters then rejections.

As of yesterday, D had not gotten anything either. Applied to LC. She is not holding out any hope - LOL! (But, has already pretty much made up her mind where she will be going next year!)

The silence is deafening. Any rejections yet?

This is ridiculous. No rejection letters yet? I called, and they said they have no system of sending out their letters. Clearly, they are giving out misinformation.

it will be interesting to see how the recieving of letters and the acceptance/rejection pans out, to see if NYU told the truth....

To see how many that DID NOT get the invites are accepted....

I want a univeristy that is honest...so hopefully they have been

Well, DS got a small envelope just now....but it isn't exactly light. I'm sworn to not open things till he gets home!!! But peeking with a flashlight, methinks it may be a waitlist ;)
broadway I don't think they have a system, they just send out in batches. My son's app was in since Dec 1st, so it's been a long wait. But without great fin aid, there's not much chance to even go there :(

edit: BTW, the only email we ever got was the Mar 8 one about the "decisions timeline".

Yeah, I got the process email, or whatever. I'm sure I am rejected. Just keep adding to the piles of waitlists and rejections!

i dont think the school is going to out right say that the majority of acceptances come first. i cant be positive obviously but i really think that is how it goes because other people at my school who applied heard back on the same day and both got accepted. it's ridiculous and pretty rude how schools play games with applicants.

Rejected.

I'm angry with some of the schools, and Fordham is at the top of my list. I had called several times, and after GIVING MY NAME, they told me that rejections don't come later. They are all mailed out at the same time. They're obviously playing games with the students because it seems to be that they did acceptances, waitlist, rejections.

I'm disappointed with this rejection because I felt this was a good fit for me. I have a 3.5 GPA, several AP credits, Girl Scouts for 12 years (Received the Gold Award), community theater/school theater for 8 years, along with many school activities. I'm in Honor Society, and at the top of my class. My greatest downfall is my low SAT scores. I received a 600 on writing, 520 on math, and 570 on reading. I hate how schools say that the SATs matter very little, because it's completely evident that they base most of their decisions around that. I've worked my butt off all these years, and it shows through my grades in school and afterschool activities, but they obviously mean nothing.

I just had to get that out and see if anyone is in a similiar boat.

may i ask where you are from? because i'm assuming my rejection should be coming tomorrow or so. i know how you feel though. i applied to fordham early action so it's been an awful wait since december and now to know that it just results in a rejection sucks.

i feel like i'm qualified also, at least more qualified than some of the people i've heard who has gotten in. my test scores and gpa are in their average and i did so much after my deferral to sway it to an acceptance. it just sucks hearing about people who got accepted when they dont even wanna go there and people who have much lower qualifications getting in instead of me.

Exactly! I agree with you. It's so frustrating. I'm from Long Island, New York.

Well put Broadwaygirl89.

My daughter is expecting a rejection, too. Her stats are 630 CR, 520 M, and 560 Writing, with a 3.5 GPA. However, our school system's grading scale is somewhat higher than many other districts: an A is 94 to 100, a B+ is 90 to 93, a B is 85 to 90, etc.

I think your entire class has been hurt by your sheer numbers. Many, if not all of you, would have gotten into Fordham or your other chosen schools a couple of years ago without any problem. But there are so many more of you this year -- I mean, the Fordham admissions guy said there were 4,000 more applications this year than last, without any additional slots for them -- that people who normally would be considered well qualified instead have been turned away.

That said, the sort of game-playing that you all are reporting is nothing short of reprehensible.

Susan

I think numbers definitely plays a huge role. But, I also think the "Your Choice" application Fordham (and other schools) sent out really helped with increasing these numbers. There's nothing wrong with a school wanting to become more competitive, it just bugs me that schools do these marketing ploys just to increase in rankings.

I've noticed a lot of people have been posting that the school's playing games with applicants because they're supposedly sending out rejections later. Well, I have a friend that just got her admission letter today (still hasn't gotten that email).

I got in on Monday with a 3.5 and a 1210. But I go to a Jesuit high school that has good relations with Fordham.
