Harvard calls them "proctors" because the school likes to use old British names.

Anyway, the rules are that there's no alcohol in freshman dorms. No proctor will search your room, and most will turn a blind eye to relatively responsible drinking. That said, don't expect to be throwing raging parties in your freshman dorm (but there's usually a lot going on every weekend in upperclass houses/rooms/etc).

i haven't even sent in my application yet.. and you got in already..lol..
i dont really understand this... since there's no early decision for harvard anymore..
or there must be something i dont know about..

yeah that's kinda what i got from my visit. i never saw the inside of any of the dorms in the yard, but they didn't sound too strict. most of the freshmen party in the upperclassmen houses anyway. i stayed in the quad (cabot), and there were some cool, small parties.
what's the best dorm to be in as a freshmen (try to include something about dorms other than yours)?

"Harvard doesn't have a single male sprinter. They had a football player and their high jumper run the 60m and 100m last year and you have doubts that a black male with a 2200 and a 11.2 will have the complete support of their coach."-posted 09-22-07

congrats token89! I'm a Harvard '12er too (originally '11er but I deferred for a year) Looking forward to meeting you! Also, I know that the Union Dorms tend to be the nicest ones on campus, particularly Hurlbut suites and singles, though you pay for it by being sequestered away from the yard.

OMG! I'm so happy for you!! :D I want to get into Harvard one day too.. (if you can't tell lol) but I'm still young obviously.. I'm a High School sophomore who's recovering from a bad freshman year -_- ... anyway I hope you do great! ^^
