I got jipped on my SATs...

ugh i got a
720 Math
600 CR
570 Writing (with score of 7 on essay)

ok i officially hate the writing section! I consider myself to be a pretty good writer and a 7 is really disappointing. May I see someone's essay who scored 10 or higher?? UGH what is up with these people that grade the essays?? I want to shoot them!!!!

I got an 11 on it, but I must say that I didn't think too much of my own essay.

Edit: Oh, the topic was "the majority rule" -- do you agree or disagree, etc.

I got an 8 on the essay and a 5 on the AP English Composition. BOOO to SAT writing

10 on the essay the first time, 9 the second. I'm not a good writer, either. If you are, you'll prob get a lower score, from what I've heard. I've heard they want basic 5 par. essays, nothing fancy. You can see my second essay if you want, but it's pretty bad, so you'll have to ask specifically for it. :) And I could probably find my first essay if you want, but I'd have to look.

You DO know that the SAT doesn't so much test your raw writing ability as it does your ability to conform to certain standards when asked, right? If they wanted to truly evaluate your skill as a writer, they would give you more than 25 minutes. They just want to see how coherently you can put together a compact, logical argument for a position.

sat writing section, with essay is whack.....dont worry too much over it, most likely colleges arent going to be juding you a good deal on it...espcially since it is the first year

i got an 8 on the essay and i ended up with a 700
my essay was horrible
i took the sat twice.. and i got 700 on the writing both times...
idk all my scores are fuzzy... i took the ACT twice and the SAT twice.. as well as 2 SATIIs (i still have to take another for Georgetown..) so its hard to keep track..
ACT~i got a 30 and 33 on the writing composite with my essays included.. and not including my essays i got a 33 and 35 (respective to my other scores)... i personally believe the essays just hurt everyone's writing scores

I agree. I got two questions wrong on the multiple choice and a 9 on the essay and got a 730. Without the essay, I'm sure my score would have been much higher. I scored higher on the essay when I took the SAT another time but my score didn't go up. I just find it really hard for me to complete an essay in 25 minutes because I'm used to having my teachers give 60-90 min to put together a really strong argument. If I had more time, I know I could have scored higher.
