I got my first C as a senior? Will NYU reject me now?

I already applied a month ago now and my guidance counselor sent my report card of my 4 years and first quarter of my senior. I’m not sure if my second quarter will be sent too. But, for the first time in my life, I got a C. For the past 4 years, I’ve gotten straight A’s and a couple of B+ on my AP classes. I’ve taken 10 AP classes and all honors, my GPA is a 3.99 out of 4.0, I’m in the top 10% of my class and I got amazing recommendation letters from my AP teachers. My grades slipped this quarter because I missed a lot of school because I had a tumor scare and am still going to a neurologist and getting a billion MRI’s to figure out what’s wrong because I could go blind or worse. I’ve done a lot of community service and did a lot of extracurricular activities. It’s going to be a C+ in my Calculus Honors class. Should I be scared? Have my dreams of being part of NYU been crushed? I got really good SAT scores… if I reapply next year, can I explain why that grade happen? I have all the doctor’s appointments to prove it. This sucks and I’m freaking out over it.

No.

If you get rejected it won’t be over one C in an honors calculus class.

Nah, they might ask you about it, but the possibility that they will reject you for just that is doubtful.
