I got my stuff! Have you?

A lot of people on the east coast have said they haven't received their stuff. Well it's weird because I'm in WI and I got my packet today! What I thought would be a depressing spring break turned out to be great because I acually got money to go to NYU. Good luck to everyone here because if there's any type of student who deserves the college of their choice it's a CC student.

Wow congrats!!!

How much aid did you get?

Grats Vap!

How much was it? Decent enough, I assume.

Ugh, I live in wisconsin as well but I’m on spring break in california, I’m heading home tomorrow, hopefully with something (probably rejection, better knowing than not) awaiting me.

Did you get an invitation before you got your packet?

Yes, I got my invitation before my packet and my award is about 10,000 in merit and 2 or 4 thousand in work study. I just have to see if my parents allow me to go. I’m still really surprised.

i just got my stuff today!! I’m pretty surprised as well; I got 19,000 in scholarships, which is pretty decent.

got my stuff yesterday. 5,000 dollar trustee scholarship that i wasnt really expecting. baird honors program person also.

Got my stuff today. This school’s offer (29,000??, 8000 of which is scholarship) is thus far the lowest of all the schools from which I have received acceptance. So now NYU has certainly moved to the bottom of the pile because I really can not afford it. Pity, I actually like this school.

congrats OP!

Hi! I am from CA and I received my packet today. Did anyone get a partial/full scholarship?

15000 dollar schoalrship. 4000 in workstudy. i wish i got more! but apparently NYU is notorious for not giving good aid. its okay though, something is better then nothing

did you apply for financial aid to get the merit scholarships?

No. Inadreambox, what school did you apply to?

Son got Baird Honors program invitation and $7500 “CAS Scholarship” along with some humongous “suggested loans.”

To kpalbert:
So, total of $5k for you and $7.5k for my kid? I thought they might do better for the NMFs.

We are awaiting the letter from BU which may offer $17k according to their site. We will see …

$23,000 Gallatin Scholarship
$2,000 Gallatin Leadership Award
$4,000 Work-Study
$2,400 Perkins Loan
$3,500 Suggested Stafford Loan
$17,082 Suggested PLUS Loan

$25,000 CAS Scholarship
$4,000 Work-Study

Most of the laons were pretty much the same as Nal’s.

Oh, and I’m a NMF.

Steinhardt Leadership Award $1000
University Grant $3350
Frederick & Eleanore Backer Scholarship $16,000
ACG Grant $750
Pell $3681
TAP $4100

Total $28,781 Scholarships and Grants

Add to that $4000 Work Study and $5900 Stafford/Perkins Loans
And the suggested $13,201 PLUS Loan and NYU meets the need (in their eyes).

Actually, this is a generous offer for my D compared to what most are getting. Unfortunately we are not in the position to go into that much debt for her education and neither is she. Hopefully some of her outside scholarships will come through.

Damn nal, I’m in at Gallatin too, but I have yet to receive my financial package… I reaalllyy hope that I get something along the lines of what you got though --even that would be pushing it for me.
