I doubt that the individuals were picked at random.

did u guys ask for financial aid?

(got off waitlist for college of engineering)

i wrote a letter that expressed interest and how i would go to cornell if i got off. my brother is a soon to be graduate of cornell engineering (graduates at the end of may) and did very well at cornell...so maybe they looked at him and thought i could do the same? i dunno.....and i'm playing a varsity sport at cornell and the coach contacted admissions and stuff (i don't really know what he did) but i wasn't a recruited athlete. i only talked to the coach after being waitlisted. and i didn't apply for any $$ aid

congrats!!

i see...congrats to all of you on this great accomplishment.

Congrats!
&
Good luck to those still waiting.

I asked for financial aid and got off the waitlist. But I still feel that Cornell's going to cost me an arm and a leg...

did anyone get off the waitlist for hotel yet?

wow 2 people off the waitlist for arts and sciences? im screwed

Make that 3 off the waitlist for CAS. I got a wakeup call from a Cornell representative at 6am on friday. I sent in a letter expressing interest and talked about a golf tournament I just won and talked to the golf coach at Cornell too.

ooo that's really cool!!! congrats! are you planning on playing golf at Cornell? GL

haha wow...6 am! do you live in a different time zone? they called me at 1pm on friday. we didn't have school that day so (obviously) i answered the phone. i'm surprised they didn't ask why i wasn't in school. :-P

now im even more worried that i wont get the call

Do they contact you by your home phone number or your cell phone number? I listed both on my common application.

I'll see all you engineers next year! I'm an RD admit... :P

And for those of you worried about financial aid: Cornell was actually the most affordable out of all my choices. They're very good with financial aid.

Anyone that's off the waitlist - 1) did you get an email confirmation, 2) did your online status change, 3) when are they sending out the packet, or post when you get the packet.

congrats to all of the wait list acceptees from a fellow waitlister last year :) see you guys on campus in the fall

I got off the list for CAS. They called me Saturday, but my mom didn't check her answering machine till today! They said that they'll send me financial aid stuff in two weeks. I don't know what to do! I sent my deposit to UChicago (which I LOVE), but it's so expensive. If Cornell give me more $....I don't know.

sigh I am losing a LOT of, let's just say all, hope of ever getting into Cornell either off the waitlist as an entering freshman or a GT. :'( Congrats to those who made it so far

oldfort--i have not received an email confirmation from cornell, but i wasn't really expecting one since i don't think they have ever emailed me (i may be wrong though) i haven't checked my online status, but i wasn't really expecting that to change either. i figure such a small percentage of students are excepted off the waitlist, cornell might not waste their time changing the status. finally, i have not received my acceptance letter yet (getting a little anxious though) but the admissions lady i talked to on friday afternoon said that it was too late to send the letter out friday, but they would said it out on monday. i'm trying not to worry about the letter (especially since i already told all of friends i'm off the waitlist) since i have AP exams to worry about. if i don't get the letter tomorrow (when i get home from AP stat exam) i'm going to call admissions
