I got Rejected from Georgetown with a 1580 and 4.0, is there something wrong w/ me?

Deffinetly man. I only used one page. My problem was the essays really confused me. I felt like both essays were asking me to talk about why I wanted to go to Georgetown. What I should have done was what Nspeds did. He talked about himself for almost the entire first essay and then tied it up in a pargraph to why he wanted to go to Georgetown. He used his second essay to talk about why he wanted to go to Georgetown. Hats off to Neil/Nspeds.

The fact of the matter is that we are willing to learn from our mistakes. That alone proves that we have bright futures. Not being arrogant, just a matter of fact!

what is your email address mine is matm1@umbc.edu

Did you apply for financial aid? Any chance it was the reason why?

I applied but would not have recieved any.

you have been wronged, but like the other posters have said, if you keep it up, you will have your pick of good schools.

good luck matm1

stuff like this happen (Really happen). let me give you an example to make you feel better, I have 1500 (which is really diffcult for a new immigrant to get, especially the English part), 4.0, 7 APs with all of them above 4, and TWO (not one, but two) professors's (with one tenured professor's and extensive research work with one of the professor) recommendation to Stanford, I still got rejected. (nearly every other school, even the ivys, browns and cornell, accepted me)

oh I have applied finanical aid and asked for 20000.
