I got this letter from UCI

Dear Exceptional Student,

As a student with strong aptitude in mathematics, we invite you and your parents to visit UC Irvine on Saturday, March 12, to attend “Mathematics at UCI” or “Physics at UCI.”
These are two special programs designed to introduce you to our Department of Mathematics and Department of Physics and Astronomy.

This invitation does not mean that you have been admitted to UCI. Admission decisions will be posted electronically at http://www.admissions.uci.edu/notification.html between March 1 and March 31. Although freshment applications are still being reviewed, based on your SAT score in mathematics, we are pleased to invite you to attend one of these programs.

I got this letter in like late February, and I’m still waiting for their notification.
(btw, my major is physical science/undeclared.)
Did anybody also received these kinds of letters?
Although it says this letter has nothing to do with admission,
i was wondering why they would invite me if I was rejected…
i’m just curious and I can’t wait to see my admission status :frowning:

nope but i got in

The reason that letter says that it doesn't mean that your admitted because I just found out from an admissions officer saturday that legally (CA law), the UCs are not allowed to let applicants know if they've been admitted. So don't worry, theres a 99% chance that you got admitted.

I am not surprised because it is California, but I think I missed that proposition on the ballot.

i got a letter from ucdavis asking me to join their rotc this summer.. does that mean i got accepted? i couldnt imagine them making me join some rotc and attend all summer without being admitted.
