just one thing, should i completely lose all hope and not set myself up for this situation, or is there still a faint glimmer of hope? is this it?

My guess is that it is a gradual process of admissions, they admit people as they are evaluated. The rejectees will be notified im sure once admissions are over.

It is all about luck at this point GOOD LUCK!!

i just posted this in another thread but the statement that appears on the online decision site,

“Applicants on the Waiting List will be sent an email notifying them to check this Online Decisions site when their status on the Waiting List changes.”

coupled with Furda’s statement that all waitlist activity will be completed by graduation seems to indicate that all waitlisted students will receive notification of either acceptance or rejection… this is assuming that one cannot remain on the waiting list indefinitely.

I imagine certain regions are evaluated separately. I know that my rep (upstate NY) is going to be across the country (TX) all week. So I doubt she even had a chance to look over any of our applications with the admissions staff. I also know another rep will be away until the 26th. So hopefully well know more by tomorrow.

Economosn is right. The waitlist is evaluated by regions, just to keep with the demographics of admissions. I have a friend who was waitlisted, and recently notified by our regional rep, that admissions will start to look at Canadian waitlistees this week. Don’t lose all hope!

Mh475- from a past post of yours, it looks like you are going to Columbia. No need to cry!! It’s an amazing school and I know at least one of my friends at Penn who would have gone there but didn’t get in!!!
