yeah you'll hear a lot of "dudes" and "likes" down here in socal

Yeah i think every teenager in the United States uses like....unfortunately. And Yeah "wicked" is really only a New England Phrase. You aint got nothin' on NY.

chillax?

maybe

meh not really; though i just thought of something pretty stupid that alot of people from my area use : Sketchy, or even worse... " sketch"

" That guy is so sketchy" or " "He is so sketch"

Dialects are tres cool.

we use sketchy in my area too
we also use shady

We don't use "sketch" in my area...but I've been hearing a few people using "sow" recently...I personally am not a fan of it

I'm sort of in a sheltered bubble in my school. Because we have students from all over the country, we use all types of slang.

It's located in San Jose, and I always hear sketch, brill, cool, wicked (not as an adj, but as an adv), LIKE, ridic, pimp, impos, neat, supwit, etc.
It's also cool here to use common foreign language phrases, like "yo tambien" and "que pasa." However, I'm only really aware of the Spanish ones since I don't speak French.
And as for being NorCal folk, we surprisingly never say "hella." It's a school consensus that it's a lame term (oh, we use "lame" too). The only time you'll ever hear it thrown around is if we're mocking someone else.

NewSlang: I have a ncal friend that says "hella" all the time and she agrees that norcal people use it. Perhaps it depends what school you go to. She goes to Monta Vista so maybe it's a MV thing?

@ Cali45:
Oh, I'm by no means saying that NorCalians don't use "hella." I hear it constantly, just not at my school. I've always associated "hella" with Asians because they say it most often around here. I highly doubt it's isolated at MV (good school, by the way!). I go to a predominantly white school, and I hardly EVER hear it. It rubbed off on me too, because I never use it myself. Perhaps my HS is just full of oddballs.

And hey, I'm Ashley. :) What's your name?

hey ashley..what school do you go to in san jose?

hm. today i learned what "ghost ride the whip" means. youtube it!

Presentation. Not many have heard of it, but who knows? It's in Willow Glen.

i've heard of Presentation ( i used to live in Evergreen)

Anyone heard of South Pasadena

Our school has population of less than 1500.

AND the freshmen class is double the current senior class...

Sounds like my school, just a little smaller. My class started off with around 900 freshmen, now we have around 400 seniors.

Man, my school population is around 700 TOTAL.

DAMNNNN smallest i've ever heard in CA

Seriously...I don't think I've even seen a school that small. Is it a private school or something? Or do you just live in a really small town?

No, I live in San Jose. One of the largest 'burbs in U.S.!

It's private. All-girls. aaand Catholic. Explains a lot, doesn't it?

are you catholic or are you forced into catholic school?
