I've never been a math person, but I've always managed to pull it off. Calc is KILLING me though. I'm barely pulling a B in that class, but only barely. I understand what the teacher says in class, but for some reason, I completely blank out when trying the problems. Would getting a prep book help? Anything? I'm willing to try anything...

Getting a tutor is out of the question as I can't afford it, and my friend tutors me for free, but he's so busy he can only do it once every couple of weeks. My other friends are horrible tutors (they don't have the patience or make it even more confusing) /don't understand Calc either. Gah..

HEY MAN! You're COMPLAINING when there are KIDS, as in YOUNG CHILDREN, DIEING!!! I repeat DIEING, IN AFRICA, to learn calculus!! (this is kind of lame, sorry)

You don't need a tutor, if you can put in the work, and with the right direction and materials any subject can be overcome.

I was struggling in AP Calculus, then I just let go and didn't care, so by AP time I was not prepared. But only one month before, I decided I had to get my credit so I came across AP Calculus by Peterson's. You may not be taking AP, but this book is really good at presenting the otherwise dry information and making you understand.

I prepped with it for only a month, basically relearned 60% of calculus 1 & 2, and got a 4. I got my credit but I give this book the full credit. Try it out.
