I am a high school junior who this year enrolled into a college english class. i have done a few assignnments but got really focussed on football and now i have an F on my transcript. i have a 3.6 gpa in highschool and I'm #3 out of 80 students in my grade level. how can this affect my future?

Very, very badly.

Any way you can do something about it?

Can you enroll in the class over the summer and get an “A?” Some community colleges will average the two grades so you’d end up with a “C.” You’ll have to ask your guidance counselor how it will affect you current applications. Good luck.

This isn’t good. It doesn’t average into your GPA since it’s probably a 0.0, which will bring it down SO much. You must live in a small town with 80 students in your grade level. I don’t know, it’s not too good for your admission chances.

@tacoperson123 you make some false assumptions. OP could be in a private school- many have small graduating classes. Also, an F does average into your GPA, even if you retake it. GPA is credits earned, over attempted so you would add 0 to the numerator and 4 to the denominator. But if it was retaken and you received an A, you would have (0+4)/2 = 2, a C.

OP, as long as you retake the class, it should not be that big of an issue.

Thanks i can retake it next semester
